The Larrakeyah Barracks Enabling Works provided the permanent infrastructure to enable the undisturbed function of the Temporary Base Entry. This project included civil works, road upgrades and services infrastructure along Nurses Walk and the new Nurses Walk Link Road. The Temporary Base Entry works provided alternative access points for the Larrakeyah Defence Precinct during the construction of the new Base Entry Precinct.
Project features
- Decommissioning, demolition, removal and/or relocation of existing buildings 305, 306, 307 and 240
- Site clearing and demolition of existing roads and pits as documented
- Civil works including pavements, kerbs, footpaths, roads, road furniture and line marking for the areas of Nurses Walk, Nurses Walk Link Road, Temporary Base Entry Precinct and the local external streets in proximity to the base (Packard Street and Larrakeyah Terrace)
- Stormwater infrastructure including pits, pipework, concrete structures, pollutant traps, erosion protection and subsoil drainage
- Sewer infrastructure including all pits, pipework, thrust blocks, valves, vents and protection
- Electrical and communications infrastructure including pits, conduits, street lighting, and earthing
- Landscaping including maintenance period as documented
- Portable and fire water infrastructure including pits, valves, pipework, thrust blocks and hydrants
